The Orchid Garden is situated opposite the Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou, conveniently located in the city center with easy access via direct subway lines. Perhaps due to its proximity to Yuexiu Park, the Orchid Garden sees fewer visitors, maintaining a tranquil atmosphere within the garden.
It is an excellent destination for admiring orchids, being a specialized orchid park in the Lingnan region, with over 200 varieties and nearly ten thousand pots of orchids, including precious species such as the Great Lotus Orchid, Great Feather Orchid, Dendrobium, and Fairy Palace White Ink. The orchid cultivation in the garden is divided into three sections; the first and third sections focus on terrestrial orchids, known for their light fragrance, while the second section features epiphytes, known for their vibrant colors but less fragrance.

Most visitors are not concerned with the varieties of orchids; they simply enjoy viewing and photographing the colorful flowers, which are highly photogenic. At the entrance, there are two couplets that read ‘Fragrance of the Upper Country, Embroidery of the Southern Sky,’ with the horizontal scroll bearing the name ‘Orchid Garden,’ written with great momentum.

Walking into the garden, one can find archways, artificial hills, stone structures, long corridors, and waterside pavilions, all elements reminiscent of Jiangnan gardens, creating an illusion of being in Suzhou’s gardens. The entire Orchid Garden is peaceful and serene, with excellent air quality, further enhanced by the fragrance of the orchids. Orchids are categorized by their blooming seasons: Spring Orchid, Summer Orchid, Autumn Orchid, Winter Orchid, and New Year Orchid. For those interested in the Black Orchid, its blooming period is from February to March. Spring is the most suitable season to see a variety of orchids.

In addition to flower appreciation, many visitors come here to enjoy tea and light snacks. Despite its small size, the Orchid Garden features several tea rooms, each with different prices and styles. The tea rooms are mostly upscale, unique, and elegant, offering a tasteful atmosphere. During the spring, when flowers are in full bloom, sitting in a tea room with friends to enjoy tea and admire the scenery is an excellent experience.
