Shi’er Mountain, formerly known as Hukou Mountain, stands at an elevation of 250 meters and is located 2 kilometers west of Dong’e Town in Pingyin County, Shandong, to the south of Fanzhuang Village.
There is a peculiar cave on the mountain called Hukou, which got its name during the Jianping era of the Southern Yan Dynasty during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Sixteen Kingdoms period. The name was derived from the event when Hu Zi, the governor of Jinan, captured a tiger in the cave, hence the mountain was called ‘Hukou Mountain’.Shi’er Mountain
