Yudu Mountain Scenic Area is located in the deep mountains to the northwest of Yanqing County, with beautiful scenery and a serene environment, possessing the original essence of nature. The scenic area features streams that flow all year round, and the scenery varies with each season, full of charm and grace, making it an excellent destination for outings around Beijing.

Yudu Mountain, the core attraction of the scenic area, has an elevation of approximately 930 meters. It was named ‘Yiduo Mountain’ by local villagers because the mountain resembles a stack of firewood. While most mountains in the area are connected, this one stands alone, hence it is also referred to as ‘Lidui Mountain’, signifying its solitary existence apart from the group. After the development of the scenic area, it was named ‘Yudu Mountain’ to express the natural beauty of the mountains and waters, based on its phonetic similarity.

Climbing to the summit of Yudu Mountain, one can see three straight and tall pine trees on the opposite mountain, aligned in a row, known as the ‘Three Incense Sticks’. There used to be a small temple on the summit called ‘Yuhuang Temple’, which has now been destroyed, leaving only the foundation and remnants of broken bricks. If you have sufficient physical strength, you can also hike along the red ribbon signs from the three-way intersection, where the undulating and varying shades of green create an exquisite landscape painting, allowing you to experience the pristine scenery up close.

The entire scenic area is open all year round from 08:30 to 15:30; during Labor Day, it is open from 08:00 to 16:00. The boat ride project officially starts operating on May 1st (Wednesday), with daily operating hours from 9:00 to 15:00.
