The silk dyeing and printing industry was already one of the main industries in Zhoucun by the end of the Ming Dynasty. By the 26th year of the Guangxu Emperor in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1900), there were more than 40 paste workshops and over 70 dyeing workshops in Zhoucun.

Da Ran Fang is located at No. 90 Yinzi Street, which is the former site of the Donglaisheng Silk and Cloth Shop, founded during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. Its business model is similar to that of the TV drama ‘Da Ran Fang’, primarily focusing on the acquisition, sorting, dyeing, and processing of silk and cloth, followed by wholesale distribution.

During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the capital reached 30,000 taels of silver, and branches were successively opened in Jinan, Tianjin, and Beijing. The business was suspended during the Anti-Japanese War.

It is open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00, with the specific business status subject to the daily opening conditions.
