The mining heritage is the core landscape of the mine park, with its main viewing area being the Furong Stone Mine. From the observation deck, visitors can gaze upon the spectacular ‘sinkhole’ formed by long-term open-pit mining at the foot of the mountain. The interspersed dark gray and gray-white sectioned stone walls and the emerald green pit water create a wonder of nature and human creation, truly a sight to behold. I estimate the sinkhole area to be approximately 1 square kilometer. Together with the large-scale mining fields and processing yards, and the stone washing pools adjacent to the ‘sinkhole’, they all possess significant research and scientific popularization value. The Furong mining area is a base for the greenstone in Guangdong Province. Greenstone is a shallow intrusive rock with a porphyritic structure, appearing dark gray or black on the exterior, primarily composed of pyroxene and basic plagioclase. It has a uniform texture, high hardness, and excellent polishing properties, making it an ideal building material, especially suitable for the special stone materials used in airport runways, highway pavements, and the asphalt wearing course of major urban roads. Asphalt concrete and other road surfaces paved with it can significantly increase noise reduction and durability. The Mining Culture Corridor and the open-pit mine viewing platform are the main sightseeing areas of the park and also the most distinctive and charming attractions. Along the mountain climbing path, the lifelike sculptures display the human culture of mining development. It integrates the geological relics and production process of large ore deposits, mining fields, processing, mining activities, and greenstone mining products, including the relics, sites, and historical traces of exploration, mining, selection, smelting, and processing activities. They are all presented one by one to visitors. The bamboo walls along the mountain, lighting, and the shrubs along the road make people feel very fresh. The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
