Chaoyang Cave, also known as Bat Cave, is a natural stone cave. Surrounded by a strategic landscape, it is located 15 kilometers south of the city at the foot of Phoenix Mountain, with its entrance facing south. Above it are steep cliffs, and below it lies a precipice of a thousand feet. Inside, the cave is uneven and the path is rugged and profound, with a uniquely beautiful scenery.

A hundred meters in front of the cave, there is a long platform protected by iron railings. On the left side, there is a wind-rock chamber, with inscriptions from famous figures of the Ming and Qing dynasties and cliff carvings in front of the door. Here, ancient trees reach to the sky, and the dense shade covers the ground, making it very elegant and clean.

Looking into the distance, the surrounding mountains are layered and lush, with the mountain road winding beneath your feet. The refreshing breeze brings a cool relief from the summer heat, making one’s heart expand and linger on the scene.

There is another cave called Fulong Cave. Located in the mining area two miles north of Laicheng, it is also known as Fox Cave. The entrance faces north, and inside, the cave is uneven and unfathomably deep. The light is dim, and the air is damp and chilly, creating an eerie and cold atmosphere.

During rainy weather, clouds emerge from both caves, with southern clouds heading north and northern clouds heading south. When the clouds from both caves meet and merge in the sky, they integrate, bringing forth sweet rain, hence the name ‘Clouds Connected by Two Caves’. The opening hours are subject to the daily operational status of the site.
