The ‘Daigu landform’ is the fifth major landform in China confirmed in geological research after the ‘Danxia landform’, ‘Zhangjiajie landform’, ‘Zhangshi landform’ and ‘Karst landform’. It is distributed in Daigu Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. It is the only miraculous sight of ‘Gu Township’ in China and has high geological research and tourism value. This scenic area is one of the main bases in the old revolutionary area of Yimeng. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the famous North-South Daigu Battle and Dagukou Defense Battle took place here. It was also an important military industrial base for the country’s ‘major third-line construction’ after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The area where the Daigu landform scenic area is located has superior original ecological resources and is known as the famous ‘hometown of Chinese honey peaches’ across the country. Geological wonders, red culture and ecological environment endow the Daigu landform scenic area with unique tourism resources and humanistic connotations. Among the many scenic spots in the Daigu landform scenic area, the ‘Grassland on Gu’ interprets the exotic beauty of ‘the sky is vast and the wild is vast’ with its unique scenery like the grassland outside the Great Wall. It is adjacent to Shenfogu, a large and more realistic natural mountain sitting Buddha found in China. Surrounded by many Gus, it has a wide field of vision. Looking at the Gus from a distance, there are layers of mountains and peaks, and the Gus are like indigo. It is one of the best viewing points of Gus in the Daigu landform scenic area. Around the grassland on Gu, there are sheer cliffs and precipitous terrain. Only one pass can reach the top of Gu. The top of Gu covers an area of more than 100 mu. With cool breeze, birds singing and flowers fragrant, and grass luxuriant, looking around, it is like a grassland inlaid in mid-air, hence the name ‘Grassland on Gu’. The grassland on Gu is a natural mountain camping ground. When the sky is clear, looking at the undulating and beautiful Gus, one suddenly feels full of pride and open-minded. The entire cave is divided into three vertical and five horizontal passageways, covering a total area of 5,600 square meters, with nine major exhibition halls and ten experience areas planned and designed. The mysterious military caves, with their unique cultural background, crisscrossing passageways, and simulation of various complex scene environments, utilize escalators, 6D seats, tracks, crane arms, vehicles, and other amusement facilities to form a new, novel, special, and thrilling tourist product. The project is invested and developed by Shandong Dongmeng Enterprise Group, with a planned total investment of 120 million yuan. The project is implemented in two phases; the first phase is the Daiguo Geological Museum area, which was completed and put into operation in November 2013 and has passed the provincial geological park acceptance. The ‘Going to the Mountains and Villages’ tourist resort is located in Zhaoliping Village, Daiguo Town, 8 kilometers away from the town center, covering an area of 26,000 square meters and investing 30 million yuan.
