Zhulin Temple was built in the second year of Jinding in the Northern Song Dynasty (1162 AD). It is located on the Nanyang slope of Daiwang Mountain in Laishan District, Yantai City. It is the only famous ancient temple with ethnic style and strong incense in Jiaodong Peninsula. It has been renovated in successive dynasties and rebuilt in the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are inscriptions of Emperor Qianlong. Today’s reconstructed Zhulin Temple not only retains the holy name and beautiful scenery recorded in history, but also expands in scale. The entire temple has a royal style and is magnificent. There are the Mahavira Hall, the Three Saints Hall, the east and west side halls, and the bell and drum towers in the temple. The halls enshrine Buddhas such as Maitreya Buddha, Sakyamuni Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The images are vivid and lifelike. A pair of ‘loud stone lions’ lie on the left and right of the mountain gate. There is Jiaolong Spring behind the temple, and the water flows continuously all year round. The rocks on the mountain behind the temple are jagged and in different shapes, such as Dharma protector stone, red-faced stone, silk hat stone, bed nest stone, three-person stone, etc. There are also legendary Immortal Bridge and Immortal Cave, etc., waiting for us to continue to develop. This place has beautiful scenery, strange mountains and different waters, and is fascinating. It is a wonderful and sacred place for good people and tourists to worship and visit since ancient times. The specific business status of opening hours is subject to the opening situation on that day.
