Bangchui Island is also known as the Bangchui Island Hotel Scenic Area. It is located at the eastern end of Dalian urban area. It mainly includes scenic spots such as Bangchui Island beach, hotel villa area, and the isolated Bangchui Island on the sea. Here, there is recognized clear seawater and clean beach in Dalian urban area. The coastal scenery is also quite charming and it is a famous leisure place. Entering the scenic area is a tree-lined avenue leading to the seaside. On both sides are neatly trimmed lawns and various garden plants. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach. More than 400 meters opposite the beach, there stands a small isolated island in the sea. From a distance, it looks like a club for pounding clothes in rural areas. Hence, the name ‘Bangchui Island’. As the beach faces east, Bangchui Island against the backdrop of morning glow is very beautiful and it is loved by photographers. From the beach pier, you can take a speedboat to closely observe Bangchui Island, but the price is not cheap. This beach is not very large, but the seawater is very clear. Taking a walk here, basking in the sun, or picking up shells and pebbles on the beach is very pleasant. However, different from the beaches in the south, the sand on this beach is relatively rough and there are also many stones and shell fragments mixed in. Walking barefoot will be a bit uncomfortable. When swimming here in summer, you also need to pay attention to the trenches in the water and not swim too far. In the scenic area, you will also see the Bangchui Island State Guesthouse building and several villas, as well as a golf course. In front of some buildings, there are armed police soldiers on duty.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 16:00. Preferential policies: Children: Those under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.3 meters in height (inclusive) are free; those aged 6 years old (exclusive) to 18 years old (inclusive) are half price. Students: Full-time undergraduate and below students can enjoy half price with valid certificates. Elderly: Those aged 70 years old (inclusive) or above are free with valid certificates; those aged 60 years old (exclusive) to 70 years old (exclusive) are half price with valid certificates. Disabled people: With valid certificates, blind people, double lower limb disabled people, and people with severe intellectual and mental diseases can have one accompanying person enter the park for free. Military personnel: Active-duty military personnel (including revolutionary disabled soldiers) are free with valid certificates. Must-see tips: 1. In the Bangchui Island scenic area, there are few catering options and they are expensive. It is recommended that tourists bring their own food and water. 2. When returning to the urban area in the afternoon, there are relatively few taxis at the entrance of the scenic area and it is not easy to get one. You can share a ride with other tourists. 3. If you are driving, you can drive into the scenic area, but you need to pay an additional parking fee of 10 yuan per vehicle. 4. In the scenic area, only the Bangchui Island Hotel (five-star) can provide accommodation. This hotel is a state guesthouse and the price is relatively expensive.
