Fahua Courtyard is one of the larger and earlier Buddhist monasteries on the Jiaodong Peninsula, and it is currently the only Buddhist temple in the area. It was built in 824 AD by the Silla person, Zhang Bao Gao. The name Fahua Courtyard was given because the first batch of monks invited to chant sutras belonged to the Tiantai sect, and they chanted the Lotus Sutra.
The ancient temple is nestled among lush trees and beautiful forests, surrounded by layered peaks, facing the Shidao Bay, with green mountains and clear waters, a view that is simply captivating. Established during the Tang Dynasty, it is a Buddhist temple that symbolizes the friendship between China, Japan, and Korea. Open all year round from 08:00 to 16:30.Chishan Fahua Courtyard
