Huancuilou Park is located in the center of Weihai City, at the eastern foot of ancient Kuishan Mountain. It is built against the mountain. Huancuilou was first built in the Ming Dynasty. With painted beams and carved rafters, upturned eaves and plank gates. Surrounded by mountains and lush greenery, it combines the beauty of the vast sea, mountains and rivers, as well as the charm of water and mountain scenery, hence named ‘Huancui’. In 1944, it was destroyed by the invading Japanese army. Today’s Huancuilou was rebuilt on the original site. The main building has three floors. The roof is covered with glazed tiles. It has a hipped roof with eaves. The three characters ‘Huancuilou’ on the eaves of the building are written by renowned calligrapher Shu Tong and shine brightly. The plaque on the back of the building, ‘Huange Lingkong’, is from the hand of renowned calligrapher Huang Miaozi. Ascending this building, one can overlook Liugong Island and enjoy the urban scenery of Weihai Port City. In the square in front of the park, there is also a bronze statue of national hero Deng Shichang. Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round.
