Jiuzhang Cliff is located at the northwest corner of Beichang Island in Changdao, Yantai, and is a relatively small scenic area. The highlight of the area is the massive cliffside by the sea. The cliffs of Jiuzhang Cliff are extremely dangerous, and visitors must move quickly and cautiously to avoid falling rocks while walking beneath them. Most visitors combine their visit to Jiuzhang Cliff with a trip to the adjacent Yueya Bay Park.

The entrance to Jiuzhang Cliff is situated halfway up the mountain, leading to a small flat area where a colossal statue of Guanyin stands. Directly in front of the statue is the cliff, from which one can gaze out at the crashing waves below and enjoy a panoramic view of the Bohai Sea, with several small islands nestled in the center of the ocean. On one side of the cliff stands Jiuzhang Cliff, which is nearly 70 meters high and extremely precipitous. On the other side is a coastline paved with pebbles. Following a narrow and steep stone staircase path, one can descend to the sea, where many reefs are located. For safety reasons, visitors are not allowed to swim at this beach. Instead, they can watch the waves crash against the reefs, listen to the sound of the sea, and feel the ocean breeze.

Opening hours are from 06:30 to 18:00 all year round.

Essential Tips: 1. The main mode of transportation on the island is by boat, and during typhoon season, boats at Penglai Wharf may stop sailing and take shelter in the harbor. Therefore, it is advised to check the weather forecast before traveling in summer to avoid being unable to reach the island. 2. Jiuzhang Cliff primarily consists of mountainous paths, and the beach below the cliff is covered with pebbles, making high heels unsuitable; beach shoes or hiking shoes are recommended. 3. When visiting in the summer, it is important to take sun protection measures, such as wearing comfortable and breathable long-sleeved shirts and pants with a sun hat to protect against both sun and mosquitoes. 4. During the lunar high tide dates, the coastal passage will be closed for three hours. In case of strong winds or heavy rain, the passage may be closed all day. During closures, visitors must take a detour. For specific closure times, please refer to the signs within the scenic area.
