The Western Gate is located at the southern end of the central road of the garden. It is the main entrance to the Prince Gong’s Mansion Garden and is made of white marble stone carvings. There are inscriptions on the Western Gate: on the outside, it is inscribed with ‘Quietly containing the immemorial age’; on the inside, it is inscribed with ‘Beautifully embracing eternal spring’, which means taking the secluded ancient environment amid the hustle and bustle. It has a Taoist artistic conception. In the garden, there are pavilions, terraces, and towers, with carved beams and painted pillars. The winding corridors lead to secluded places. Lotus ponds, waterside pavilions, and exotic flowers and rare herbs are just like a fairyland on earth.

Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
