Shanghai海湾 National Forest Park Co., Ltd., funded by Bright Food Group Co., Ltd., began construction in May 1999 and covers an area of 1065.1 hectares (16,000 acres), with an east-west length of 5.3 kilometers and a north-south width of 2 kilometers. In December 2004, it was officially named by the State Forestry Administration as: Shanghai海湾 National Forest Park, becoming the third 4A national forest park in Shanghai following “Sheshan National Forest Park” and “Dongping National Forest Park”.
Shanghai海湾 National Forest Park is a large-scale artificial urban ecological forest park with the largest area, the richest variety of vegetation, the highest closure degree, and the best air quality in Shanghai. The park shapes the urban ecological landscape style, implements the trend of scientific development, fully demonstrates the advantages of Shanghai’s coastal scenery, vibrant resource advantages, and location advantages, and has great potential for developing comprehensive and diversified forest cultural tourism.
This scenic area has formed a vacation and leisure gathering place integrating tourism, leisure sightseeing, scientific research, and popular science education, with rich cultural landscapes and beautiful forest scenery. In summer, camping at the Niu Road Wilderness Campsite allows for easy check-in, night exploration of the forest, and searching for mysterious small insects in the forest under the guidance of the Big Dipper.
If you want leisure, come to Fengxian. Visit Fengxian and come to the海湾 Forest. Opening hours are all year round from 08:30 to 16:30.
