The Caocao Gaoling Site Museum is a site-specific thematic museum integrating collection, research, display, publicity and education. The main construction contents of the museum include the main protection and display project and supporting facilities for environmental control projects. Among them, the main protection and display project includes the site exhibition hall, museum exhibition area, energy center, etc. The architecture of the Caocao Gaoling Site Museum is designed by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University. It makes full use of the terrain to reduce the impact of the building volume on the environmental features of Gaoling. The building takes the main colors of black and red, which were regarded as noble in the Three Kingdoms period. The exterior draws on the characteristics of the deep eaves of Han Dynasty architecture to create a majestic and grand architectural image. To better protect historical and cultural heritages, the steel structure protection shed built on the site has a transverse span of 120 meters and a longitudinal span of 140 meters. During the construction process, the giant truss steel structure translation technology is adopted, achieving zero contact with the cultural relics themselves and reaching the world level. In 2020, this project won the Gold Award of China Construction Steel Structure. Opening hours: Open from 08:30 to 18:00 all year round; Open from 08:30 to 17:30 all year round.
