The Yuwan Scenic Area boasts unique and beautiful natural landscapes, formed by waterfalls, cliffs, and peculiar rocks. Particularly impressive are the waterfalls that flow all year round, and the legendary Dragon King’s three sons playing in the water at Laolongtan, Erlongtan, and Sanlongtan, as well as the Dragon Bed where the Dragon King’s third son sleeps, all of which give visitors a feeling as if they have entered a fairyland.
The Laolongtan Waterfall has a drop of more than 40 meters, and visitors can reach out and touch it when they arrive. The waterfall roars as it cascades down, scattering pearls and jade-like droplets. The Canglong Cave, located halfway up the mountain, is a veritable Water Curtain Cave, surrounded by jagged rocks at the entrance, with a waterfall curtain hanging from the mouth of the cave, and the cave itself can accommodate more than 20 people.

From the ‘Rainbow Viewing Platform’ near the entrance of the cave, visitors can also see the huge rainbow refracted by the Laolongtan Waterfall, making the scenery extremely spectacular. The area is known for its waterfalls, cliffs, and peculiar rock formations, and its natural landscape is very beautiful. Due to its natural purity and rugged beauty, it is praised by tourists as ‘Jiangsu’s Zhangjiajie’.

More than two hundred years ago, Yuwan was just an island extending from the Yuntai Mountains into the sea, occasionally docked by fishing boats, serving as a fishing village and dock. Later, as the seawater receded to the east, the area at the foot of the mountain gradually turned into fertile fields.

The area is remote and sparsely populated, with the natural environment rarely damaged, and the local customs are simple and rustic, with a strong rural flavor. The descriptions of the mountain and forest scenery in ‘Jing Hua Yuan’ are mostly drawn from this area.

Visiting Yuwan follows the main line of ‘three ponds, one cave, and three pools’, namely Sanlongtan, Erlongtan, Laolongtan, Canglong Cave, Lvshuiwa, Qingshuiwa, and Huangshuiwa. Among them, Laolongtan is the most spirited, with a waterfall drop of more than 40 meters, and visitors can reach out and touch it when they arrive.

The opening hours are all year round, Saturday-Sunday 08:30-17:00; Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00.
