Weishan Lake National Wetland Park is located in the southern part of Weishan County, Shandong Province, less than 3 kilometers from the urban area. All water surfaces of Weishan Lake are managed by Weishan County of Jining City. The park’s total planned area is 150,000 mu, and it is a large-scale public welfare ecological project focusing on wetland protection, science education, water purification, and ecological tourism.
Located 3 kilometers south of Weishan County, the park primarily utilizes the wetland ecosystem and historical culture of Weishan Lake, focusing on wetland protection, science education, water purification, and ecological tourism. It is divided into five major functional areas: wetland conservation, restoration and reconstruction, education and display, rational use, and management services. The park is rich in rare birds and original ecological plants and animals, with a complete structure of various ecosystem types such as wetland, farmland, and forest ecosystems, and it has significant ecological, cultural, aesthetic, and biodiversity value.
In the coming years, Weishan County will coordinate the protection and rational use of wetlands while ensuring the water quality safety of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project and maintaining the ecological balance of the lake area. The goal is to build Weishan Lake National Wetland Park into a boutique project of freshwater lake wetland tourism and a symbolic project of wetland ecological construction in China, and a model of lakeside wetland parks.
Opening hours from November 1st to April 30th are from 09:00 to 17:00; from May 1st to October 31st, the opening hours are from 08:30 to 17:30. For boat trips to and from Weishan Island during November 1st to April 30th, the winter schedule is the last boat to the island at 15:00 and the last boat to leave the island at 16:30; ticketing stops at 16:00, and the park closes at 17:00. From May 1st to October 31st, the boat schedule is from 08:30 to 17:30, with the last boat to the island at 16:00 and the last boat to leave the island at 17:30; entry stops at 16:30, and the park closes at 17:30.
