One of the Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song dynasties, Zeng Gong, constructed a causeway on the southeast bank of Daming Lake for easier access to the lake during his tenure as the governor of Qizhou. This causeway, known as the Hundred Flowers Causeway, was the essential path from the south bank of Daming Lake to the Beizhu Pavilion. In honor of Mr. Nanfeng and to preserve that historical period, during the expansion project of Daming Lake, the section between Nanfeng Bridge and Nanfeng Temple was named Zeng Di.

Along the causeway, willows cast their shade, and a hundred flowers fill the air with fragrance. On both sides of the causeway, lake water gently laps against the shore, with waves rolling in succession, making Zeng Di Embracing the Water one of the eight scenic spots in the expanded area. Open all year round, accessible 24/7.
