The Lion and Tiger Paradise is located at the western foot of Jinniu Mountain. It was built in 1960 and renovated and ecologically upgraded in 1985 and 2008. The renovated Lion and Tiger Paradise has completely transformed the old rigid cage-net exhibition mode and created a simulated natural ecological environment. The cage houses with imitation wood frames, activity fields with rocks, flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs, as well as the naturally undulating terrain, large glass viewing windows with high perspective and flower shelf-style viewing corridors all highlight the development concept of modern urban zoos – ecological and humanized. In the renovated Lion and Tiger Mountain, the ecological environment makes the lions and tigers live more comfortably – fully showing their wild nature; the barrier-free facilities allow tourists to enjoy the viewing more thoroughly – fully enjoying the visual feast. Currently, there is one Siberian tiger, seven Bengal tigers and two African lions living in the Lion and Tiger Paradise. They are all kings in the animal kingdom and their appetites are astonishingly large. Each one can eat 20 catties of beef and mutton every day. The daily living expenses are as high as more than 400 yuan. They are truly high-consumption groups in the zoo! The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
