Steamed Bun Mountain is located in Zhangxia Town, Changqing District, Jinan City. With an altitude of 408 meters, it is named after its shape which is particularly like a steamed bun. Local people are accustomed to calling this mountain ‘Mo Mo Mountain’, ‘Man Shou Mountain’, or elegantly ‘Man Shou Mountain’. Steamed Bun Mountain is only more than 20 kilometers away from Jinan urban area. There are many mountains named Steamed Bun Mountain or with shapes like steamed buns in China. But only the Steamed Bun Mountain in Jinan has been named as ‘the third famous geological mountain in the world’ by UNESCO. Due to its unique bottom conglomerate at the bottom of Cambrian period and backflow phenomenon, it has attracted the attention of geologists at home and abroad and has been listed as a provincial-level geological natural heritage reserve in Shandong Province.
