The Daming Lake Archway is located at the south entrance of Daming Lake and is a national-style archway, hailed as the symbol of Daming Lake. Standing at a height of 8.38 meters and a width of 14.7 meters, it is situated on stone steps and features a five-bay, multicolored, single-eave style with seven layers of eaves. The archway’s top is designed in a ‘three-tier staggered’ pattern, covered with golden glazed tiles, with upturned eaves and ridges, presenting an elegant and magnificent appearance.
Above the archway, there is a plaque with the three gilded characters ‘Daming Lake,’ written by Yu Shu Dian from Dengzhou, Shandong, during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. On both sides of the archway, there are stone-paved streams, with springs such as Pearl Spring and Zhuoying Spring feeding into Daming Lake. Over the streams, there are carved railing stone bridges through which tourists pass, cross the archway, and enter Daming Lake. The entire structure, bathed in sunlight, shines brightly with a golden luster, hence the name ‘Dan Fang Yao Ri.’ It is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.Daming Lake Archway
