Lianyungang Museum was established in May 1973. It is a local comprehensive museum and collects more than 10,000 cultural relics of various types. In July 2006, the new museum was completed and opened to the public. The new museum has an investment of more than 60 million yuan, covers an area of 45 mu, and has a construction area of 13,600 square meters. The city museum comprehensively showcases the long and splendid historical culture of Lianyungang area from the Paleolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Nowadays, the museum holds more than 20 temporary exhibitions of various types every year, which has aroused strong repercussions from all sectors of society. Opening hours: open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year from 09:00 to 17:30; closed all day on Monday throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:30 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day; closed all day on New Year’s Eve.
