The Jinan Commercial Port Culture Museum is located at No. 370, Jingsi Road, Huaiyin District. The total construction area is nearly 500 square meters. There are six exhibition halls: ‘Self-opening Commercial Port’, ‘Industry and Commerce Economy’, ‘Diverse Culture’, ‘Social Customs’, ‘New Life of the Ancient City’, and ‘Second Opening of the Commercial Port’. Entering the Self-opening Commercial Port hall, the first thing you see is the large relief sculpture ‘A Century of Opening Ports’. Under the relief sculpture is depicted Jinan Station of the Jiaoji Railway, and above it is Jinan West Station of the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway. Although the construction times of the two railway stations are a hundred years apart, they have brought new eras to Jinan one after another, implying the two openings of Jinan City. The exhibition hall of industry and commerce economy shows the history that during the period when Jinan’s commercial center gradually shifted from the ancient city to the commercial port, some time-honored brands also opened new branches in the commercial port area one after another. The diverse culture hall shows that after the opening of the port, the first western restaurant, the first park, the first cinema and the first western-style letterpress printing house that appeared in Jinan under the blending of eastern and western cultures, reproducing the period when old Jinan gradually transformed into an open city where the ancient city and the commercial port coexist and diverse cultures thrive together. In addition, in the other three exhibition halls, the characteristics and changes of local conditions and social features during the periods of ‘Social Customs’, ‘New Life of the Ancient City’ and ‘Second Opening of the Commercial Port’ in the commercial port period are displayed in turn.
