Huibo Tower is located above the Beishuimen Gate. It was built in the early Yuan Dynasty. It is a two-story building with seven bays in width. The gable roofs have overhanging eaves and ridge ornaments with mythical animals. It is surrounded by poplar trees, like stars surrounding the moon. The sanqu writer Zhang Yanghao recited in his poem ‘Climbing Huibo Tower’: Where can one climb and have endless thoughts? The tower stands high, leaning against the wind in mid-air.
