Ma’er Mountain is located 6.5 kilometers southeast of Xumeng Town, Wulian County, Shandong Province. It covers an area of about 40 square kilometers. The main peak is 706 meters above sea level and is one of the highest mountains in southeastern Shandong. Because the two huge rocks on the main peak stand side by side and look like horse ears from a distance, it gets its name. The mountain range runs from east to west and is composed of gneiss and granite.

Strange peaks such as the Five Old Peaks, Songduo Peak, and Pigeon Cliff Peak stand tall and compete for beauty. Mist shrouds the mountains and springs gurgle. The slopes are covered with forests and brambles grow everywhere. The mountain rocks are jagged and the mountain is steep, but there are winding paths leading to secluded places.
