The Jiushui Tourist Area is located in the north of the main peak of Laoshan Mountain. It is a rare tourist area in Laoshan known for enjoying waterfalls and getting close to water. It is also a famous summer resort. The Jiushui Tourist Area has dense vegetation. The valley is full of streams, ponds and waterfalls. Lifelike huge stones can be seen everywhere in the mountains. Walking on the plank road by the water, the green and clear pond water is refreshing.
Summer is a good season to visit the Jiushui Tourist Area. At this time, the valley has gurgling streams. Especially after rain, the waterfall has a large water flow and is very beautiful. In summer, the Jiushui Tourist Area has lush forests and is very cool. Accompanied by streams all the way, it is very suitable for playing in the water. From October to mid-November, it is a good time to enjoy red leaves in the Jiushui Tourist Area. At that time, the valley is colorful and the scenery is also very moving.
The Jiushui Tourist Area is formed by the confluence of Laoshan mountain springs from an altitude of one thousand meters. It is divided into outer Jiushui and inner Jiushui. After reaching Wolong Village, buy tickets and sightseeing bus tickets first, and then take the sightseeing bus through the outer Jiushui (from Wole Village to Taihe Temple, about 6 kilometers) to reach the entrance of the inner Jiushui and start hiking. During the ride on the sightseeing bus, you can see reservoirs, villages and peaks by the road, which are the landscapes of the outer Jiushui.
The inner Jiushui (from Taihe Temple to Chaoyin Waterfall) is the essence of the entire scenic area and gathers many scenic spots. This section of the road is also relatively easy to walk. Among them, the “Nine Waters and Eighteen Ponds” is a major attraction. The “Nine Waters and Eighteen Ponds” is a series of ponds of different sizes. These ponds are crystal clear and as green as emeralds. There are huge stones scattered among the ponds. If you come here in summer, you can play in the water by the pond or walk on the stones, full of fun.
Walking along the stream all the way here, you will pass mountain valleys such as Yulin Gorge and Lengcui Gorge, and you can also see many ingenious pictographic stones. Then you will reach Chaoyin Waterfall. You can see a mountain spring flying out from the gorge and converging into a blue-green pond called “Indigo Vat Bay”. Chaoyin Waterfall is the end of the inner Jiushui. When you arrive here, you can return the same way or continue climbing to Liuyun Pavilion and Weizhu Nunnery, and then go down to the inner four waters to return.
After returning from Weizhu Temple to the inner four waters (midway of inner Jiushui), you can head back to the sightseeing car park.
