Located in Tengjiao Village, Chikan Town, Kaiping City, Chikan Nanlou stands to the south of the Tan River and is backed by the Donglong Highway to the north, controlling the strategic water and land transportation hub between Sanbu and Chikan, with a perilous geographical position.
In 1912, the Situ clan built this tower to protect against thieves. The tower stands 7 stories high at 19 meters, covering an area of 29 square meters, and is constructed with reinforced concrete. Each floor features rectangular gun ports, and the sixth floor serves as an observation deck, equipped with machine guns and searchlights.
