Er Di Ancient Temple, located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain on the eastern side of Guangzhou City, is situated along the Jingxi Ancient Path. The temple was originally constructed during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty. According to historical research, after the implementation of the imperial examination system during the Tang Dynasty, the Jingxi Ancient Path was the route that scholars took to go to the capital for their exams.
