Since ancient times, fire has been regarded as a symbol of sacredness and light, possessing the divine power to ward off evil and protect crops. Various ethnic groups regard the Torch Festival as an important festival to pray for a good harvest and ward off evil. During the Torch Festival, people hold various traditional activities by lighting torches to express their longing and pursuit for a better life. The Torch Festival is known as the ‘Oriental Carnival’. It is not only a moment of joy for various ethnic groups to celebrate the harvest, but also an important stage to inherit and display ethnic culture. On the occasion of the seventh Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival in 2024, in order to continuously promote the work related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, promote rural revitalization, and inherit farming culture, the Millennial Yao Village scenic area will hold the ‘Thousand-Person Terrace Harvest Torch Festival’ activity from September 6th, presenting a feast of light and fire for tourists.
