Zhi Mei Space (Shenzhen) will present the first solo exhibition in China of Spanish-Chinese artist An Wei, titled ‘A Slow Boat’, on December 3, 2024. It will bring seven groups of easel paintings and installation works created by the artist since 2020. The inspiration comes from the artist’s poetics of life and fragmented memories of Spain and China. These works are not only a response to the dialogue between traditional cultural conservation and modernity but also the crystallization of his profound reflection and interpretation of the surrounding world. Each work will be rooted in the new exhibition space and break the viewer’s established viewing perspective of traditional easel paintings with an extremely interesting exhibition style, presenting an interpretation and tribute to the European classic art theme – still life painting in the contemporary context.

Opening hours: from December 4 to January 20. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
