This castle-like Yao village surrounded by mountains is located in Lanxi Yao Township, Jiangyong County. It is 37 kilometers away from Jiangyong County seat. The traditional festival in the mountain village, the Washing Mud Festival, is included in the provincial intangible cultural heritage. There are more than 300 residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties preserved in the Yao village so far.

Altars, dance platforms, singing stages, pavilions and bridges can be seen everywhere. Among them, there are also large-scale historical sites such as the Panwang Temple, Xianggong Temple, Laohu Temple and Guanyu Temple. The bluestone alleys are all over the mountain village. The horse-head walls protruding around the houses, with eaves decorated with colored paintings or brick carvings, are dotted with small bluestone lattice windows, thus forming street scenes with unique characteristics.

The unique Washing Mud dinner party allows foodies to taste Yao family cuisine while singing and dancing. Open all year round and open all day.
