The ancient city of ‘Changting’, also known as Tingzhou, was established during the Han Dynasty. Since the 24th year of the Tang Dynasty’s Kaiyuan era when Tingzhou was established, it has become one of the five major prefectures, seven Min regions, and eight Min jurisdictions in Fujian. Since the prosperous Tang Dynasty, Changting has been the seat of governance for states, commanderies, roads, and prefectures, and it is the educational and cultural center of the ‘Hakka Culture (Western Fujian) Ecological Protection Experimental Zone’.

Known as the ‘World Capital of Hakka’, it boasts a profound cultural heritage and a wealth of historical sites and cultural landscapes. Additionally, due to its location at the southern foot of the Wuyi Mountains, neighboring Guangdong to the south, and bordering Jiangxi to the west, it serves as an ancient road hub and strategic border point for the three provinces of Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangxi, and is referred to as the ‘Western Gateway of Fujian’.
