Tongshan Ancient City is one of the five major naval garrisons in Fujian Sea. It is located in Tongling Town in the northeast of Dongshan Island. It was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387 AD). The city wall of the ancient city undulates along the mountain and is built with stone slabs. It is 1900 meters long and 7 meters high. To defend against Japanese pirates, Zhou Dexing, Marquis of Jiangxia, built a city with stones here and set up a naval garrison to defend the coastal defense. After several baptisms of war, the ancient city still has its majestic demeanor today, and the city tower is magnificent. Inside the ancient city, there is a Guandi Temple with winding corridors and exquisite elegance. Also known as the Martial Temple, it was built in the 22nd year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1389 AD). Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 18:00.
