Yuan Geng’s ancestral residence is located in Shenzhen. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, it faces west and is about more than 20 meters wide. The overall layout is five bays, three entrances and two courtyards. The main entrance is recessed. It has blue brick walls. From front to back along the central axis are the foyer, the front courtyard, the middle hall, the back courtyard, and the back hall. The wing rooms are located on both sides of the central axis courtyard. The separation of each living unit is completely symmetrical.
