Qinglongyan Scenic Area is located in Qinglong Village, Nanqiao Town, Xunwu County, Jiangxi Province, by the Xunwu River. It is part of the unique Danxia landform in southern China, composed of Mesozoic red sandstone and conglomerate. Known for its natural grottoes and Danxia’s red cliffs, it is often referred to as the ‘Kiss of the Wind God’. The area is famous for its numerous natural grottoes, unique shapes, and exquisite craftsmanship, earning it the nicknames ‘Northern Maijishan’ and ‘Southern Qinglongyan’.
The Qinglong Danxia landform embodies a strong temperament, reflecting the beauty of masculine grandeur. It features abrupt, perilous, secluded, and steep landscapes, all crafted by nature’s hand. Attractions include the ancient Longyan Temple, the old ruins of the Heavenly Kingdom’s beacon fires, the secluded West Wind Path, the One-Line Sky carved by axes, and the lifelike Vajra Mountain. With its enchanting natural scenery, intriguing anecdotes, and legendary myths, Qinglongyan showcases the endless charm of Danxia culture and its grand history.
The area is open year-round from 08:30 to 17:30. Concessions are offered to children: free for those under 1.2 meters (inclusive); discounted for those between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive). Elderly: free for those over 65 years old with valid identification; discounted for those aged 60-64 with valid identification. Students: discounted for college and high school students with valid identification. Military personnel: free with valid identification. Police: free with valid identification.
