Xishan Scenic Area

Xishan Scenic Area is one of the famous scenic spots in eastern Guangxi. In the broad sense, Xishan Scenic Area includes Gui Ping Xishan Scenic Area, Tropic of Cancer Sign Park, Da Teng Gorge, and Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Jintian Uprising Site, among many other attractions, covering almost all the scenic spots in Gui Ping and occupying a vast area. The common understanding of Gui Ping Xishan Scenic Area refers to the Xishan Scenic Area on the northwest side of Gui Ping city, which is where most tourists visit. Xishan has been a famous Buddhist site in Guangxi since ancient times, with the ancient temple Longhua Temple located within the scenic area, making it an excellent place for Buddhist worship in the surrounding areas. Additionally, the scenery in the mountains is very beautiful, with ancient trees towering along the mountain paths, and from the mountain, one can overlook the city, as well as the famous Ruquan Spring. Tourists who come here for mountain climbing, praying, sightseeing, and photography will find it very enjoyable. Xishan has an elevation of about 680 meters, and most of the attractions are concentrated on both sides of the main hiking trail. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk from the foot of the mountain to the summit, and tourists generally spend about 5-6 hours here for worship, mountain climbing, and sightseeing. However, some tourists may choose not to reach the summit because there are fewer views at the top, which only has a television tower. Generally, if the main purpose is to worship, one can descend after reaching the Guanyin Rock. If the purpose is sightseeing, one can descend after reaching the Xianxian Gorge. Only tourists who enjoy mountain climbing will choose to reach the summit, which takes about 40 minutes more from Xianxian Gorge to the top. Additionally, a cable car has been built in the mountains, starting from the foot of the mountain, which can save most of the uphill journey. Tourists with less physical strength can consider taking a one-way ride. Longhua Temple is the essence of Xishan Scenic Area and an important place for tourists to visit and worship. Longhua Temple was built at the end of the Tang Dynasty and the beginning of the Song Dynasty, with a long history and has always been a famous temple in Guangxi Province. Today, Longhua Temple is also the location of the Guangxi Provincial Buddhist Association. The temple now has magnificent temple buildings such as the Mahavira Hall and the Thousand-Armed Guanyin Hall, which are said to be very effective. Tourists who want to worship and pray should not miss this place. The Xishi Temple at the foot of the mountain is also a famous Buddhist site, where many people come to worship. The Jingci Vegetarian Restaurant at Xishi Temple is also an important place for tourists visiting Xishan. It is a vegetarian restaurant that offers vegetarian noodles, vegetarian breakfast, and a variety of vegetarian dishes, including many dishes made from vegetarian materials that taste and look like meat, which many tourists come to taste. In addition to worship and prayer, the trees and clear springs of Xishan are also very beautiful. Among them, the famous Ruquan Spring is the most notable. The spring water flows out from the bottom of the spring, which is almost milky white, very magical, and a unique feature of Xishan. Near the top of the mountain, near Xianxian Gorge, there is a dangerous pavilion standing on the cliff, from which one can overlook the scenery of the city and the lake below, with a very open and beautiful view, making it a good place for photography.
