Located 28 kilometers north of Guicheng city, this is the site of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom’s peasant uprising, which erupted on January 11, 1851. It was one of the largest and most far-reaching uprisings in Chinese history. The site now features a rebellion exhibition hall, a statue of Hong Xiuquan, ancient encampments, the former residence of Wei Changhui, the Sanjie Ancestral Temple, a training ground, the Fengmen Pass ancient battlefield, and the Rhino Pool, among other historical sites. It is open to visitors all year round from 8:30 to 18:00.
