The site of Maba Man is located in Shiziyan, Maba Town. It is composed of two limestone peaks from the Carboniferous period. From a distance, it looks like a lion lying on the ground, with its head low and tail high. The karst caves in the mountain are crisscrossed and connected up and down. The bottom layer is filled with water all year round. The water is clear and cool. In 1958, human skull fossils were found in a fissure in the second layer of karst cave on the north side of Lion Head Mountain.

After being bonded, there are frontal bones and part of the parietal bones, and part of the right eye socket and nasal bone. According to the identification of relevant experts, it is an early type of human fossil in the transition from Homo erectus to Homo sapiens. The discovery of Maba Man is of great help to the study of the activities of ancient humans in this area, as well as the geographical climate and ecological environment at that time.

At the same time, it provides important physical materials for further discussion on human evolution and development. In 1961, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. Opening hours: Open all year round from 8:00 to 17:30.
