The old arcade buildings currently preserved in Meizhou City are mainly located in Lingfeng Road in the old urban area of Jiangbei. This road was built in 1932. It is about 1000 meters long and about 8.5 meters wide. The spaces on the small streets on both sides are even narrower. However, due to the appropriate building scale, it does not appear congested. There are row upon row of mixed Chinese and Western arcade commercial buildings on both sides of the road. There are also landmarks such as Meijiang Bridge and Meizhou Confucian Temple. The surrounding area belongs to an important historical and cultural protection area in Meizhou City. The architectural styles of shops, workshops, restaurants, warehouses, and corridor sheds in the block are a mixture of Eastern and Western elements. Conservative and avant-garde architectural forms coexist. There are still many Hakka dwellings that combine Chinese and Western elements preserved in the block. Their architectural forms have buildings and courtyards with diverse combinations, showing the mutual penetration and influence of dwellings in western Fujian and eastern Guangdong.
