Shui Street, spanning over 900 meters in length, derives its name from the numerous wells connected within it. Visitors can indulge in a variety of local cuisines here.
Its historical and cultural roots date back to the early Ming Dynasty when it was a small, less prosperous town. During the Qing Dynasty, with the opening of the Yulin waterway, Yulin Shuijie began to flourish. The area has preserved many architectural and cultural heritages from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the main architectural styles being the Sanfangyayuan (three-courtyard, one-yard) and the Siheyuan (courtyard house). Most buildings here are of brick and wood construction, with roofs covered in cyan tiles, creating an ancient and mysterious atmosphere, making it a typical southern water town street.Shui Street – A Southern Water Town with Rich History and Local Delicacies
