Zhuangyuan Bi Park is a newly constructed historical and cultural park located in the middle of roads within the Songshan Lake Industrial Park in Dongguan. It draws inspiration from the motivational tale of the ‘Zhuangyuan Bi’ that encourages students in their pursuit of knowledge, and follows the thread of Qi Shun’s arduous journey to education. The park is landscaped according to the terrain, creating a tourist attraction.
At the southeast entrance of the park, there is a group of ancient Lingnan architectural complexes with varying heights. Following the winding path to the north leads to the ‘Gui Yue Pavilion’, where it is said that the Zhuangyuan rested on his way to the capital for the imperial examination. Continuing along the mountain path, one reaches the peak of the entire village—the Kuixing Pavilion, symbolizing the achievement of the top scholar and the realization of one’s ambitions. From this vantage point, one can overlook a lush lychee forest with abundant and ripe fruits, presenting a deep red spectacle. Descending the path, one returns to their hometown in glory and pays homage to the ‘Zhuangyuan Bi’ located on the west side of the village. To the west of the Zhuangyuan Bi, there is the ‘Zhuangyuan Stele Corridor’, where steles are erected to commemorate the history of the place and the deeds of the Zhuangyuan, inspiring future generations. The northwest entrance features the ‘Zhuangyuan Square’, with a screen wall behind the archway depicting ‘Magpies Climbing on Plum Blossoms’, reflecting the folk belief that magpies bring good news. Zhuangyuan Bi is a source of pride for the people of Songshan Lake. It is structured around the thread of Qi Shun’s hard journey to education and the motivational tale of the ‘Zhuangyuan Bi’, building a rich historical and cultural connotation for Zhuangyuan Bi Park. The park is open all day from January 1st to December 31st.Zhuangyuan Bi Park
