Heyuan Dinosaur Cultural Park is a cultural complex integrating Heyuan City Museum, Heyuan Dinosaur Museum, and Gui Feng Tower.
The park is located in Gui Feng Park on Bin Jiang Avenue in Heyuan city, adjacent to Heyuan City Museum, backed by Gui Feng Mountain, which hosts the nationally protected Song Dynasty Gui Feng Tower and the Ming Dynasty Gui Feng Ancient Temple. Around the base of the mountain, there is a large dreamy dinosaur sculpture wall that stands 48 meters high, spans 338 meters in length, and has a total span of 800 meters, along with a 9-meter-tall dinosaur central sculpture and 10 groups of creative steel dinosaur sculptures.
The museum officially opened to the public on November 26, 2010, with a construction area of 8300 square meters and an exhibition area of 3100 square meters. It is themed around dinosaurs and primarily displays over 17,000 various dinosaur egg fossils that have received the Guinness World Record Certificate, more than 10 individual dinosaur skeletal fossils, and numerous dinosaur footprint fossil models, reflecting the rich dinosaur fossil resources of Heyuan City, known as the ‘Hometown of Chinese Dinosaurs’. Opening hours are all year round, Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:30; and on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, 09:00-17:30.
Preferential policies for the elderly: aged 60 (inclusive) to 64 (inclusive), half price; for children: between 1.2 meters (not included) and 1.5 meters (inclusive), half price; below 1.2 meters (inclusive), free.
Free ticket groups for the Dinosaur Museum: 1. Active military personnel (with officer or soldier ID), disabled military personnel (with Disabled Military Personnel Card of the People’s Republic of China), preferential treatment objects (with preferential treatment object’s pension subsidy registration certificate), retired military personnel (with retired military personnel certificate or proof from the city’s military rest home and ID card), showing the required documents for free admission; 2.
