The Peifeng Pagoda, commonly known as the Wuli Pagoda, is located in Houkeng Village, Hongyang Town, Puning. It was built in 1742 (the seventh year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty). The pagoda is 36 meters high, with seven floors. It has an octagonal plane. It is a feng shui pagoda made of lime, sand and clay. There are unique internal spiral stone steps inside that can lead to each floor. There are windows on each floor for viewing.
The eaves of the pagoda are made by overlapping red bricks. On the seventh floor, there is a caisson. The top of the pagoda is composed of a large gourd and three rounds of upward lotus on it supporting a small cast iron gourd weighing more than a thousand catties, which is unique. The Peifeng Pagoda has an antique shape and is majestic. It has stood firmly for more than two hundred years and is one of the ‘Eight Scenic Spots of Puning’ known as ‘Peifeng Pagoda’.
