Shuangfeng Evening Bell is one of the ancient eight scenic spots in Jieyang. Shuangfeng Temple is one of the three famous temples in Chaoshan (namely Kaiyuan Temple, Lingshang Temple, and Shuangfeng Temple). The former site of Shuangfeng Temple was located at Shuangshan in Panxi County, and later it was moved to Mashan Lane in the east gate of Rongcheng, making it one of the larger ancient temples in Jieyang. Founded in the year 1140 during the Southern Song Dynasty’s Shaoxing period, it has experienced both glory and decline, and was reconstructed and completed on December 10, 1991. It was approved to be open in 1988, and was listed as one of the first batch of cultural relic protection units in the city in 1993. The temple is grand in scale and rich in cultural relics. It also serves as the office location for the city’s Buddhist Association. It is open to the public all year round from 4:30 am to 6:00 pm.
