The left and right forts of Chiwan are located at the top of the Shekou Peninsula where ‘the mountain ridge near the sea controls the danger on three sides’. They clamp down on Chiwan Port on the east and west sides and command a majestic view of the Lingdingyang Sea. The restored left fort stands on the Eagle Beak Mountain with an altitude of 170 meters. The foundation of the fort is built with large granite blocks and is about more than 3 meters high. The north side is the entrance to the fort city. In the east and west chambers inside the city, there are still remains of two house foundations. The high platform on the south side is about more than 8 meters wide and is the site for using artillery positions.
Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
