The Vanishing Pharaoh, produced by French Excurio and first introduced to Asia by Boxin Universe, will officially land in Shenzhen Sea World D District on December 24th. Previously, the project has been implemented in various cities including Shanghai, Chengdu, and Xi’an, attracting more than 300,000 visitors nationwide and sparking a consumer craze for large-scale virtual reality experiences offline. The Vanishing Pharaoh has also been included in the 2024 France-China Cultural and Tourism Year and the 60th Anniversary of Sino-French Diplomatic Relations as a special presentation. As the largest exploration center in China operated by Boxin Universe, the Shenzhen station boasts a large-scale virtual reality experience area of 700 square meters. In this simple yet artistic space, it takes you on an immersive cultural adventure. Travel back 4,500 years to the ancient Egyptian civilization and explore the unopened secrets of the pyramids in ‘The Vanishing Pharaoh’, a 45-minute immersive virtual reality experience (Immersive Expedition). Through Large-Scale Virtual Reality (LBVR) technology and immersive exploration, the audience is guided to investigate one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Unlike traditional virtual reality, ‘The Vanishing Pharaoh’ allows you to be not just an observer but a participant. The moment you put on the VR headset, you can delve into the mysterious areas of the pyramid, explore its internal structure and historical context, and experience the thrill of climbing to the top of the pyramid to overlook the Giza Plateau, traveling back to the 4th Dynasty 4,500 years ago, sailing on the Nile in a solar boat, or participating in an ancient Egyptian sacrificial ceremony, revealing the infinite mysterious beauty and unveiling the mysterious veil of ancient Egyptian civilization. The column-free large space design liberates the experience, truly realizing the immersive fun of simultaneous exploration by multiple people. Free from the constraints of carrying equipment, just by wearing the VR headset, you can freely explore the mysterious areas never open to the public. You can walk and visit ancient sites as if in real life, with natural body movements making the experience more realistic and unforgettable. Groups of 1 to 4 people can participate simultaneously, with multiple groups running at the same time, and on-site staff will provide each visitor with a dedicated VR headset. During the immersive adventure, you can share your adventure experiences with those around you, see each other, and interact and communicate in real-time. ‘The Vanishing Pharaoh’ is academically guided by the Harvard University Giza Archaeological Project (Giza Project) team, ensuring that all details and descriptions in the project comply with the research certification of archaeologists.
The experience content and data are based on the on-site holographic scanning of the interior and surrounding environment of the pyramid and are reconstructed and restored with high precision at a 1:1 scale on the virtual engine.
