Da Lu Hua Scenic Area: A Fusion of Natural and Cultural Beauty in Jinzhou, Liaoning

Reeds thrive in abundance, and in the late autumn, the reed flowers dance gracefully, offering a delightful scenery. The scenic area is located in the central-southern part of the Yimou Lushan Mountains. Known for its steep and towering mountains with sharp peaks, the reeds flourish in the autumn when the reed flowers sway in the wind. The main peak of Da Lu Hua stands at an elevation of 630.1 meters, resembling a massive spiritual stone piercing the sky, exuding an imposing presence.

Archaeological findings suggest that over 200 million years ago, the Da Lu Hua Scenic Area was once a boundless ocean. Due to the movement of the Earth’s tectonic plates, the Asian plate was raised, transforming into a retreating sea area where waves have receded, leaving behind reeds covering the hills and fields. Every late autumn, the reed flowers dance, creating a pleasing view. Thus, the area earned its name, Da Lu Hua.

The scenic area is a blend of cultural and natural landscapes spanning seven dynasties: Tang, Song, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing, with 26 cultural landscapes and 16 natural ones. It includes eight ancient temples and is divided into four scenic spots: Xiao Ping Ding Shan, Nan Shan, Shi Ba Pan, and Lu Hua. Natural and cultural landscapes are scattered throughout, intermingling with each other. Renowned natural landscapes include Lushan Grand Canyon, Qi Dian Ping Ding Shan, and San Xing Dui Yu Shi.

Da Lu Hua Scenic Area possesses not only the grandeur of the northern mountains but also the elegance of the southern peaks. In spring, the trees are lush green, vividly fresh; in midsummer, the green shade covers the sun, and streams murmur; in late autumn, the forests are painted in colors, with mountains ablaze in red; in winter, the land is dressed in silver, resembling silver and jade. It is a place for tourists to sightsee, explore history, and pray.

Being in this location, the beautiful scenery and pleasant environment are so captivating that visitors linger and forget to return. Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.
