Jinmen Island is the main island of Jinmen County. It is located to the east of Xiamen Island. The whole island is shaped like a butterfly spreading its wings. Most of the island consists of relatively gentle hills, and the highest point is Taiwu Mountain, which is 253 meters above sea level.
Jinmen Island has beautiful scenery and is also a quiet island. There are still many ancient houses and Western-style buildings on the island. There are also scenic spots such as Juguang Tower, Zhai Mountain Tunnel, the former office of the Qing Dynasty military general, and the Shuitou Ancient House Cluster.
