Shihu Wharf, also known as Linluan Ferry, is a representative heritage element reflecting the transportation network of the World Marine Trade Center.
Linluan Ferry is located in the northwest of Shihu Village, Hanjiang Town, Shishi City, on the southwest side of Shihu Port on the south bank of Quanzhou Bay. Its scientific location and reasonable layout fully demonstrate the wisdom and rich navigation experience of the ancient Quanzhou people.

Linluan Ferry was an important wharf for the transfer between rivers and seas and between land and water in Quanzhou Port from the 11th to the 14th century. The fleet of Zheng He’s voyages to the Western Seas once docked here. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, an anchor left by Zheng He’s fleet was discovered in the silt of the ferry and is now collected by the Quanzhou Maritime Museum.

In 2006, Linluan Ferry, as part of the ancient buildings of Quanzhou Port, was listed as a national key cultural relic under protection in the sixth batch.

Historical records show that in the first year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty (1068), a stockade city was established for defense. In the 30th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1602), Shen Yourong from Xuancheng, Anhui, was transferred to Fujian and stationed in Shihu. During his tenure, Shen Yourong disciplined his troops, sold public property, and donated the reward money he had saved for many years. He did not harass the people or impose apportionments. He repaired and expanded the Shihu Stockade City, which was deeply supported by the local people. The Shihu Stockade he built has always been an important stronghold guarding the exit of Quanzhou Bay.
