Wenshan Scenic Area is located in Tong’an District, Xiamen. It got its name because Zhu Xi, a great Neo-Confucian master in the Southern Song Dynasty, engraved the two characters ‘Wenshan’ on the rock at the top of the mountain. The scenic area is lush with trees and has grotesque rocks. There is a Denghuozhai village that was first built in the Ming Dynasty.
